Loaded Irish Coffee

Impress your guests with spiked Irish coffee, and don’t forget to add a mountain peak of velvety, whipped cream.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED

    cups brewed Starbucks® Pike Place® Roast
  • 4
    oz Irish whiskey
  • 0.5
    cup butter
  • 1.75
    cups brown sugar
  • 2
    cups heavy cream, divided
  • 2
    tsp vanilla
  • 0.5
    tsp sea salt
  • 4
    oz milk chocolate, divided

STEP 01

Over medium high heat, combine butter, brown sugar, 1 cup cream, vanilla and sea salt.

STEP 02

Stir until sugar has dissolved and mixture is smooth and creamy. Set aside.

STEP 03

Melt 2 oz. (55 grams) of chocolate in microwave on high for 30 seconds. Repeat until chocolate is completely melted.

STEP 04

Using a hand mixer, beat remaining cream until thick. Carefully add melted chocolate and continue to beat until peaks form. Set aside.

STEP 05

Grate remaining chocolate , set aside.

STEP 06

In 4 heat proof mugs, pour 1 cup (250 mL) of coffee, top with 2 tbsp (30 mL) caramel mixture, and one shot of whiskey. Top each glass with ¼ cup (60 mL) whipped cream, drizzle of caramel, and grated chocolate.
