Brewing a fresh espresso creates a delicious base for any coffee. This guide will give tips on how to use an espresso machine so that you can make a truly exceptional espresso.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED

  • Your favourite Starbucks® Espresso Roast – Whole Bean, or freshly ground
  • Your espresso machine
  • Tamper
  • Cloth
  • Kitchen scale
  • Your favourite coffee cup

  • 9
      grams of coffee - Single espresso

      grams of coffee - Double espresso
  • Tip: These ratios are a great place to start, but check your equipment for the manufacturer’s recommendation.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED
Turn on your espresso machine to preheat it.

Attach the portafilter to your espresso machine and place your favourite mug directly under the portafilter.

Press the button (or flip the switch) to begin pulling the espresso.

You can watch for signs of a good quality espresso pull – it should look like warm honey pouring into your mug.
