Inspired by the traditional Japanese art of origami, this innovation from Starbucks® makes it easier than ever to enjoy a pour over coffee at home.
Open the Starbucks® Origami™ Portable Drip Coffee filter at the middle of the white label.
Gently tear open the filter, and squeeze the sides to fully open the drip filter.
Place the Starbucks® Origami™ filter on top of your mug, with the coffee filter over the centre.
It's not essential to use a kitchen scale to measure the water as you pour it in, but it does make it much easier. If you’re using one, make sure you reset your it to zero once the Origami™ filter is in place.
Using the gooseneck kettle, slowly pour in 30-40g of hot water over the coffee grounds.
Slowly move the spout to pour the water over all the grounds to ensure they’re fully saturated.
Let it steep, allowing the coffee to bloom for 20-30 seconds.
TIP: Make sure all the water has filtered through the coffee grounds into your cup before moving on to the next step.
Add more hot water in pulses, adding a similar amount each time.
TIP: Make sure you’re saturating the grounds, and letting them drain each time, until you’ve added the full 140g of hot water.
Remove the Starbucks® Origami™ from your mug, and enjoy your favourite Starbucks®, your way.
